About #KnowYourDrops
In summer 2016, we launched a pharmacy-led #KnowYourDrops campaign. Its main objectives are to promote and encourage good eye drop compliance and provide support to patients, carers and staff regarding best techniques for administering eye drops.
With many patients having poor vision, aiming eye drops at the correct angle or squeezing plastic containers can be difficult. In some cases, patients do not realise that the technique they are using isn’t working. This can result in medication not working effectively and could lead to further complications.
The pharmacy team at Moorfields therefore decided to raise awareness of compliance and eye drop techniques and offer enhanced support to our patients and the public through the #KnowYourDrops campaign.
The campaign consists of a one-day event at each Moorfields site across London. Staff will be on hand to give advice and answer any questions you might have about your eye drops and to demonstrate some of the different compliance aids that are available to make putting in your eye drops easier. The sessions are supported by the International Glaucoma Association (IGA) and Thea Pharmaceuticals.
Please join us at any of the sessions listed below. For more information, please speak to your Moorfields pharmacist.
