I am thrilled to be appointed permanent chief executive at Moorfields. I want to thank everyone for their support so far, I have thoroughly enjoyed the last nine months – and I’m delighted I’m staying.

The recruitment process included opportunities for staff from across the trust to feed in what they would like from a chief executive and to take part in staff forums with the candidates.

Professor Tim Briggs, interim chair, said: “Over the past nine months, Peter has played a pivotal role in helping us continuously provide excellent patient care, as well as delivering our strategy. Peter’s commitment to our values is evident and gives me, the Board, and those involved in the recruitment process, utmost confidence that he is the right person to lead Moorfields into our next exciting chapter.”
