Martin Kuper has taken the decision to resign from his position as chief executive of Moorfields and will formally leave the organisation. Peter Ridley will continue in his role as interim chief executive for the foreseeable future.
Martin took up the position of chief executive at Moorfields in September 2021, following his role as deputy chief executive for transformation and chief medical officer at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. Throughout his time as chief executive at Moorfields, Martin has been a strong advocate for digital innovation, championing initiatives such as the award-winning single point of access and has worked hard to ensure exceptional patient care is delivered to all our patients.
Professor Tim Briggs, interim chair, said: “I would like to thank Martin for his contributions during his time at Moorfields and wish him success in his future endeavours.”
The board will now consider how best to proceed with the process of recruiting a permanent chief executive, with Peter continuing as interim chief executive while this takes place.
