Should I have NHS or private care?
At Moorfields, you have the choice to have your eye care at any of our 20 NHS locations.
You can also choose to have your diagnosis or treatment privately. Our 2 private locations in central London offer fast access and consultant-led care where you will see your consultant at every appointment.
Both Moorfields NHS and Moorfields Private offer the highest quality of care.
Can I have both NHS and Private care?
You can be seen under Moorfields NHS and Moorfields Private at the same time. Being seen privately will not impact your NHS care.
However under NHS England rules, you can't "mix and match" within the same appointment or treatment. For example in cataract surgery, you can't have an NHS operation with a privately paid for premium lens. The operation must be wholly performed under either NHS or Private care.
