Commercial divisions

Moorfields has two commercial divisions – Moorfields Private and Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai. These units exist entirely to augment and support the care we provide to NHS patients by generating income from outside the NHS, which can then be reinvested in services for all our patients.   

Moorfields Private is the London-based private division of Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Since opening in 2004, we have built an international reputation as a well-respected and trusted provider of high quality private eye care services which includes consultations and treatment for adults and children. Our dedicated private facilities offer fee-paying patients added comfort and convenience for both day cases and overnight stays.

We offer the most comprehensive range of eye care services available in the UK, which includes the latest laser and implantable contact lens treatments for vision correction and consultants specialising in cosmetic eye treatment.

Moorfields Eye Hospital UAE

2017/2018 marked the 10^th anniversary of Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai in the UAE, the first overseas branch of Moorfields NHS Foundation Trust. Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai opened in 2007 to provide local private patient facilities to people in the Middle East who would previously have had to travel much further afield for specialist eye treatment.  Since opening, Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai has treated over 180,000 patients from more than 90 countries, and is now widely regarded as a leader in Eye Care in the Middle East. It has also become a reference for UK health organisations as a successful NHS overseas healthcare operation. The full range of eye care services is offered at Moorfields Dubai, from basic screenings to complex surgeries through a team of both permanent and visiting Consultants. Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai paediatric ophthalmology department also conduct complex surgeries for babies at Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital, the first peadiatric specialty hospital in Dubai, and also offers undergraduate training to Dubai Medical College students as part of their commitment to training and education in the region. This year has also marked the second year of operations for Moorfields in Abu Dhabi, UAE, a joint venture with a leading healthcare investment and development company.
