Shreeti Lakhani

Shreeti Lakhani is Consultant Optometrist of the Contact Lens Service at Moorfields Eye Hospital and has a passion for contact lenses; she has been head of the contact lens department since 2005. Shreeti graduated from Cardiff University in 1999 and trained at Oxford Eye Hospital before joining Moorfields in 2003.

Shreeti enjoys teaching and has lectured at a vast number of conferences as well as publishing papers and articles and is a peer reviewer for several journals. She has been an ongoing supervisor for post-graduates new to the profession successfully teaching and supporting them during their qualifying year.

Research interests/experience

• Extensive experience in refracting and fitting all types of medical contact lenses for complex eye conditions including high prescriptions, astigmatism, keratoconus, corneal graft, irregular cornea, corneal scarring and therapeutic lenses

• Expert in fitting rigid gas permeable corneal and scleral lenses, specialist soft lenses, hybrid lenses and cosmetic lenses

• Specialist interest in designing RGP corneal lenses
