Important patient information

  • Please arrive on time or we may not be able to complete the tests
  • Bring your child’s spectacles or contact lenses and solutions
  • Bring a list of your child’s medications
  • Ensure any children coming with you can be looked after
  • Clean your child’s hair and do not use any hair gel/oil, etc or any make up

Please note…

  • If you feel unwell on the day of your appointment, do not travel to the hospital; call our department and we will rebook your appointment.
  • The results of the tests will be sent to the doctor who referred you – it is not possible to give results to you at the time of testing.
  • If your child is not brought to the appointment, we do not automatically rebook your appointment.
  • For Private Patients payment can be made on the day of testing by cash or credit card; or we may be able to invoice your insurance company if you bring your membership number with you.

  • Moorfields’ PALS team provides confidential advice and support to help you with any concerns you may have about the care we provide. The PALS team can also advise you on how to make a complaint.

Transport

  • By tube

Northern Line (City branch) to Old Street station. Come out of subway 4 and follow the green painted line to the building. Moorgate (Northern, Hammersmith and City, Circle, Metropolitan), Barbican (Circle, Hammersmith and City, Metropolitan) and Angel (Northern) are about a 10-20 minute walk away.

  • By bus

21,43, 55, 76, 141, 205, 214, 243, 271 and 394 serve City Road and Old Street.

  • By train

Old Street station is also served by a national rail line. Liverpool Street, Kings Cross and Euston are all a short bus ride away.

  • By car

Moorfields is on the A501, and is approximately 6.5 miles from junction one on the M1. Parking around the hospital is very limited, although there is some meter parking and some privately-operated car parks. The closest reasonably-priced car park outside the congestion zone is City Garden Row car park, City Garden Row, London N1 8DW. Telephone 020 7251 4406. This car park is open Monday-Friday and is situated just behind McDonalds off the City Road.

 

Disabled parking

If you hold a valid blue badge, or are driving the holder of a valid blue badge as a passenger, you can park in the designated disabled bays outside the hospital in City Road - please check the signs on the bays to confirm for how long you can park. You can also park in Cayton Street (the location of the hospital's main entrance) on the yellow lines where there are no loading restrictions for up to three hours, provided the clock card is displayed and set to your time of arrival.
