Old Street station exit only during morning peak

From 2 November to August 2021, Old Street station (near our City Road site) will be exit only during the morning peak travel period (7.00-10.00am). This will enable Transport for London (TfL) to safely complete the construction of a new main entrance to the station.

The green line will be maintained and patients will still be able to enter Old Street station if they show their appointment letter or text. The route through the station will be unchanged and TfL marshals will be on hand to assist you.

Staff will also be able to enter Old Street station by showing their Moorfields pass.

The project will update Old Street station and roundabout, with a new layout, improved accessibility (including a lift) and a better flow of passengers, cyclists and pedestrians.

Once completed in 2022, Old Street roundabout will have new and improved pedestrian crossings as well as segregated cycle lanes. A new public space between Moorfields and the brand new entrance to Old Street station will make it easier and safer to walk into and around the station and change between trains and buses.

* Update 18 January 2021 * - During the lockdown, the one way flow has been suspended. However, the staircase used to exit the station onto City Road is now closed. Patients should follow the green line, which diverts to the left up the slope, then back towards City Road and Moorfields Hospital.
