This is a new in-house programme sponsored by the London Deanery and NHS London, designed for all Moorfields staff with an interest in clinical management and leadership.
The aim of the programme is to introduce and explore clinically relevant knowledge and skills in management. The course has been tailored specifically to fulfil unmet needs which were highlighted by a questionnaire sent to ophthalmic trainees in the autumn of 2009.
Topics include policy making, accountability & regulations, quality & safety, NHS finance & business planning, business case development, leadership & management, negotiation & influencing skills, strategy development & establishing a new service. There will be opportunities to discuss general and Moorfields-specific management questions with senior managers and clinicians.
