We want our public and patient involvement strategy to be accessible and meaningful to all our users, patients, staff and the public. The aim of our strategy is contribute to the quality of healthcare by making it more responsive to the needs and preferences of patients.

Through our public and patient involvement strategy (PPI) we aim to:

  • promote patient involvement (including carers where this is the patient's wish) in their own healthcare and be an active partner with our health professionals,
  • enable patients to become better informed about their treatment and care and to make informed decisions and choices,
  • ensure that patients, the public and staff have the knowledge, skills and support  to enable them to influence planning, delivery and monitoring of health services,
  • acknowledge and act on information we receive from patients and the public, and
  • feedback to patients and the public how their involvement has influenced the operation of Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
